Cizeta Moroder - What the Diablo
shoulda been??
[This great video produced and
contributed by Brian Wiklem. A finished, full
resolution version will be included on an upcoming
book on all the Cizeta cars.]
Gandini, the designer that produced
the Countach & Miura for Lamborghini, also
produced a design for the sucessor to the Countach
(which was destined to become the Diablo).
The story goes that the original
design was altered heavily by Lamborghini (then
owned by Chrysler), annoying Gandini. The design
was than resold. to Cizeta, who stayed with
the original design theme.
Reportedly only 10 were ever ordered, 2 of them
from the Sultan of Brunei.
Exhaust.TV actually flew out
to LA earlier this year with the hopes of filming,
and driving this magnificant beast. But, see,
contrary to the very flattering rumors, we don't
always get everything we want around
here. This video is a nice consolation though.
Thanks again to Brian Wiklem. Brian- Put me
down for a couple autographed copies, and I
hope your bonus footage includes some raunchy
exhaust notes!!!
[and let me know if the video
doesn't look right. We struggled with it a bit,
and thinking about pixel width gives me a headache]
